Brother Kevin is an Irish monk living in seventh century Ireland. Christianity is still young and unique to the native people, and some are deeply set in the old and ancient ways. When Brother Kevin runs afoul of an ageless witch, he is cursed and forever changed, and must walk the earth until he has acquired all knowledge. A mysterious being greets his rebirth in a dark and stormy graveyard, christening him with his new name and sending him out into the world to seek knowledge ... and fill his empty skull.
