Daniel Frazier - unmasked!
Well ... nearly. Daniel Frazier is more than a good friend of mine who used to patronize my comic book shop back in the day. He's more than a film maker who learned the painful truth that just because someone is funny and incredibly handsome doesn't mean he can act! He's more than a husband, a dad twice over and all-round great guy. He's a comic book geek.

But if I tell you everything, I'd have to kill you. Or Dan would kill me! But just sticking to the geek part - we should be fairly safe. I remember going over to Daniel's room and seeing a dozen or so comics displayed on the wall in semi-hard plastic sheaths. Too cool! This guy was proud of his comic book collection! Of course, I didn't have the heart to tell him that the UV rays in the light would bleed the color from the covers like leaches used by midevil medicine men on the peasantry. That's the kind of guy I am - I'll sit back and watch your treasured comic book pieces bleed to death. But what could I say? It was a cool wall of comics!
It was inevitable that he'd do his own comic book. He only beat me to it because he can draw. Nobody's a bigger comic book geek than me. But Dan's pretty geeky. And all that wonderful geekiness gushed out The Adventures of Nightclaw & Prowler.
Two people are responsible for me putting on my god-like super-powers and creating my own comic book world, and Daniel is one of them. Dan the Man - who gets his super-powers from wearing his dad's eye glasses! (But that's too top-serect to discuss). Dan was past issue #3 of AN&P and finishing issue #4 when he told me something akin to "with great power comes great responsibility". He told me, "Man, there's nothing like getting that package in the mail and opening it and finding your comic book inside!" And just like young and troubled Peter Parker, I knew what I had to do. I had me some comic books to create!
It's all been uphill ever since. Thanks to Dan, I dusted off decades-old stories (I kid you not!) and started hunting for artists. Old World needed populating! And like the alcoholic at his first AA meeting, I had to admit it aloud: "I am a comic book geek." Now I look forward to putting my comic books on the wall - far away from the light.
