You're mind probably doesn't work like mine.  Now is a good time to be grateful!  Anyway, with me one thing leads to another, and before I know it things are taking place that I didn't not expect.

The demise of OWO is one such "thing".  But first, let's talk about beginnings. 

In the beginning, OWO was intended to be a simple little webcomic to give people a reason to stop by the Old World Comics website and now forget about us while we were busy making comics.  Since I knew I couldn't release a comic book every month and people would have to wait many months just for the next issue of anything, inventing a webcomic was probably something I could do on a monthly basis, and therefore keep Old World Comics a fresh place to visit.

So I came up with a simple idea:  why not lampoon myself with some Old World Comic regulars, like Cory Butler and Daniel Frazier, at our "offices"?  Perfect!  It would be a great way to introduce characters and book releases right in the comic itself!  And that's how and why the Old World Office was created.

As time moved on and I broke the comic off to a sister website, the hits where indicating that twice the people still visited Old World Comics then read OWO.  And just by going to cons regularly was causing great traffic to the Old World website, so I didn't really need OWO anymore for it's original purpose.

But I'm a writer, and writing a webcomic is awesome because you can do it more frequently and have quicker results.  So I wanted to continue on, but not with OWO which really limited my ability to tell a story. 

But now I had a new "subsite" called Catacombs to launch and showcase a different style of comic books - so why not create a webcomic to draw traffic to it and help keep it fresh?  And that's how and why Catacombs the webcomic began.

So for better or for worse, OWO comes to an end.  And it would be great to hear what everyone thought about OWO, so let us know.  "Todd, Cory and Daniel" need job references!

Just got back from S.P.A.C.E. in Columbus, Ohio - a show completely dedicated to the indy publishing world.  Now, I naively thought that meant if someone self-publishes comics outside of needing an established company to publish their works, they could come to S.P.A.C.E. and set-up shop and start selling their books.  Well, that's certainly true, but not exactly what happened.  

Instead, S.P.A.C.E. is more geared to the truly down-to-earth do-it-ALL-yourself independent publisher.  You don't need professional printed books.  You don't need full color and marketable glossy covers.  And you don't need super-hero, mainstream comics.  As a matter of fact, you may alienate yourself from the regular, die-hard patrons if you are all of the above!

I was very nearly all of the above!  (Thank God for "The Book on Me" or I would have had nothing to sell!)  

But something absolutely wonderful happened to me at S.P.A.C.E.  I realized that, as a writer, I could embrace this earthly medium for so many of my story ideas that didn't fit the mainstream comic market!  I mean, my book shelf and computer are full of ideas that I knew I couldn't do through Old World Comics, nor would I have the budget to produce so many stories.

But there's no rules with this type of genre!  It was completely liberating!  And with this discovery, I realized that I had a place for my more off-beat tales!  The people who attended S.P.A.C.E. - these incredible bohemian geeks - had no hang-ups.  They could appreciate art on different levels, and I was the one trapped in a box of my own making. 

So as I began knocking the walls down, I found myself in the catacombs of Old World Comics.  Here rested my stories of years past and not-so-past, covered with dust and uncertainity.  But no longer.  With this discovery I could now begin to explore deeper and further into the catacombs. 

You're welcome to come along.  Check your pre-conceived notions at the entrance, grab a torch and come inside.  The Old World Catacombs are now open.

I'm hoping my good friend, Daniel Frazier, creator of "The Adventures of Nightclaw & Prowler" won't kill me for starting this post, but I just have to know:  Will there be an AN&P issue #5?  I mean, this is a pretty fun book, and I know that I want to see more.  But I'm not sure Daniel will be continuing the series. 

That's cool - when something's ran it's course, so be it.  Still ... it may help grease the wheels to hear from everyone out there.  What do you like about the series?  What neat things should our sibling superheroes tackle next?  Give us some good positive feedback.  Maybe Daniel will even weight in!

Now that issue #2 of "The Powers that Be!" is out for the world to see, it's time to see more of each Powers' member!  (Does that sound right to you?)  Anyway, the question is ... who should be first?  Barefoot Bullet - the fast-talking speedster?  Buxom Blonde - the sparkly-breated beauty?  Chi - the haunted martial artist?  Diesel - the super mechanic?  Or Sybil - the split-personalited heroine?
