The Characters That Be!

Picture
BUXOM BLONDE   Oooh ... "sparkles!"  I'm wondering if Buxom Blonde really has a super-power at all!  I mean, guys (bad ones and good ones) can't look away from her breasts!  What's new about that for guys?  But it's not just that Buxom is very ample in the chest area.  Maybe it's the sparkles?  Ahh - there's clearly more here than meets the eye - and there's a lot that meets the eye!  But for the most part - yeah, that's Buxom's sole super-power.  What is she going to do when she comes up against a super-bad gal?  I'm thinking "cat fight"!  Has to be, since Buxom's "stare-lock" ability only works one way.  And with that costume ... not too much room for bat-a-rangs!  She'd better be picking up some moves from Chi real soon!

Picture
CHI   With a little help from his long-dead spirit friend, Chi packs a wallop!  He is the master of the 7 long-lost martial arts - or should we say his ancient Chinese warrior guide is the master.

Chen Fang inhabits an amulet that Chi wears around his neck.  How Chi got the amulet is another story for another day!  But Chi channels Chen's fighting ability for his own credit, since no one else seems to be able to see Chen's ghostly head floating about and talking to his young pupil.

And that's exactly how Chi wants it!

Picture
BAREFOOT BULLET   B.B. has the super-power of super-speed ... as long as he's barefoot!  Talk about flat-feet!  Talk about your dog's barking!  Talk about ... well, you get the picture.

But Bullet's mouth is as fast as his feet, and perhaps faster!  Clearly the quick-wit of the group (others may say "half-wit"), Bullet enjoys throwing out the one-liners and tauting his enemies with insults.

Perhaps because he's so familiar with being on the receiving end of those one-liners and insults himself!

Picture
DIESEL   Every superteam has to have a strong guy.  Enter Diesel.  He looks like a tank - and that's a pretty good description!  Capable of flight with an arsenal of neat gadgets and all heavy metal, Diesel jumps into the fray with his trusty side-kick ... Betty?

Sure, she's only a self-aware computer program built into his helmet - but a side-kick all the same.  Well ... maybe not a side-kick.  More like a combat companion.  She tells him when to dunk and dodge and fire - stuff like that.  She never gets caught by the villain and tied to the railroad tracks and has to be rescued - like some side-kicks.  She keeps to her place - right inside Diesel's head.

A true dynamic duo.

Picture
SYBIL   If Sybil were any more complicated, she could have her own season on "Lost"!  Sybil doesn't dirty her hands fighting crime - she lets one of the "others" do that for her.  Afflicted or blessed with 3 other personalities, Sybil is in complete control over who is to inhabit the sole body between them all.

Affectionately known as "Homebase" to the other personalities, Sybil enjoys cruising around Pentagon City, listening to the police scanner and deciding who gets to come out and play with the bad guys.

There's nothing crazy about that!

SYBIL'S "SYBILITES"! *
* I owe Cory a quarter everytime I say it!

HE-WOMAN
First Appearance:  The Powers that Be! #1 (in full body)

He-Woman is one of Sybil's multi-personalities - and what a personality she is!  Her super-power?  Muscle and attitude!  Between her and Barefoot Bullet, they could talk a villain to death!  But He-Woman believes in following up her lip with an old-fashioned one-two punch.

Once on the "outside" of Homebase (or Sybil), He-Woman stands a good foot taller than her anchor personality.  She compliments Diesel, the other super-power in the group.  Aside from Sybil and her other "syblites", He-Woman likes going solo just fine!  She doesn't mind being a part of a superteam as long as she gets her licks in!

But when Sybil gives the call, He-Woman must retreat back into Sybil's subconscious mind to wait to fight another day.

DOUBLE-OH!
First Appearance:  The Powers that Be! #1 (as "Sybilite" only), The Powers that Be! #2 (in full body)

Part secret agent, part super-model, part fem fatale.  Double-OH! is everything that her base personality isn't.  Also known as Chastity in her "civil" identity (whenever Sybil allows her to have a civil identity), Double-OH! works part-time undercover for the United States government - just for kicks!  Sexy and as trustworthy as a secret agent should be, Double-OH! used all her "powers" to get the job done.  Lacking super-powers, Double-OH! relies on gadgets and an above average athletic ability.  As Chastity, she is the only personality who cares to have an outside relationship - but nothing serious, mind you!

IQ
First Appearance:  The Powers that Be! #1 (as "Sybilite" only)

To say that IQ is smart is to say that Einstein had a slight above average intelligence.  Also a personality of Sybil's, IQ is strangely enough confined to a wheelchair - but no ordinary wheelchair.  Known as Ironside, IQ's chair is her closest personal companion.  She is always trying to match wits with Ironside to solve crimes, but since IQ build and designed the computer brain for the wheelchair - she oddly enough always seems to be just a bit brighter and quicker on the uptake.  Go figure.
